SENIORS COMMUNITY GRANT 2019

The Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility supports Ontario seniors in staying active and safe in their communities while preventing social isolation and elder abuse. The Seniors Community Grant Program encourages community involvement of seniors by supporting hundreds of projects focused on volunteerism, learning, financial awareness, social inclusion, elder abuse prevention, mental well-being and physical activity.

This year, the program has been improved to make it more efficient and to better support the needs of seniors in under-serviced rural, remote and Francophone communities.

The Whitby Lawn Bowling Club was awarded a Seniors Community Grant for 2019 and had hoped to hold a photo op in the Spring of 2020 to recognize the Government for approving this grant.   The Grant was used to upgrade our website whitbylbc.ca
